Locally Grown
Farm Ethos
Glencullen Farm offers private garden allotments to rent in south Dublin at reasonable rates, starting from €200 for 50m2 a year. Glencullen is a precious ecosystem and we foster an environmentally-friendly approach to the allotments with minimal impact, zero waste, non-invasive species and an organic orientation. Get more out than you put in and put in only natural soil enrichment and plant protection, free from chemicals and synthetics. Grow together, naturally.
In 2009
Owned by the Campbells of Glencullen since the formation of the Irish state, this four and a half acre parcel of pastoral land was worked for grazing and livestock up until 2009. With the downturn in the economy, people turned to grow-your-own food production. With increased demand for space to grow, the allotments were set up in 50 and 80 square metre plots to accommodate green-fingered gardeners.
In 2017
Jonny Darling bought the smallholding in the Summer of 2017 and set about bringing Glencullen Allotments back to life. An advocate for rewilding, Jonny favours a low impact, minimal waste, organic philosophy to enrich the environment and leave no trace.
